Split Ends

Split Enz was a successful New Zealand band during the late 1970s and the early 1980s featuring brothers Tim Finn and Neil Finn . Split ends in the hair are the most common hair problem that every woman faces. Trichoptlosis or split ends occur when the protective cuticle is stripped away from the ends of the hair. Split ends are more likely to develop in dry or brittle hair, and typical causes of damage include excessive dying or vigorous brushing. Typically the hair splits into two or three strands, and can be as long or two to three centimeters in length. The best treatment is to cut off the split end of the damaged fiber. All you need to do is to cut them off using a pair of scissors. To get rid of split ends, take a small section of your hair and carefully twist it gently in a downward motion. When you do this, the split ends will automatically stick out. Carefully snip into the twist with sharp scissors. Carefully remove the split ends this will give your hair a natural layered effect. Try to cut about the same amount of hair. Cutting your hair is the best way of getting rid of split ends. It is the simplest and least expensive method to remove split ends.

Split Ends occur when the cuticle is damaged and the fibres of the cortex unravel. The hair is dry, brittle and prone to tangling and can split at the end or anywhere along the shaft. The main cause of split end is during the long stay of hair on the scalp, the hair is exposed to innumerable physical and chemical traumas. This factors damages the hair because hair is a dead structure that lacks the power of self-repair. This leads to gradual wearing down of the cuticle scales and these are totally lost at the tips of the hair which results in split ends. If they are not treated, they travel up to the roots giving the hair an uneven length. This is the one reason which results in further growth of hair. Number of reasons cause hair loss like emotional and physical stress, hormonal imbalances during teenage and pregnancy, adverse drug reaction, malnutrition, illness etc.
