Alopecia Totalis

Alopecia totalis involves complete hair loss of the entire scalp - i.e., not just within the male pattern baldness region (as in most hair loss cases). Sometimes, hair loss is but a symptom of a more serious problem.  It has been observed that alopecia capitis totalis runs in the family, highlighting the influence of genetic factors.
